Mahoney & Fililava Painting: Trusted Painters in Mildura Since 2000

In 2000, Paul Mahoney moved with his young family to the beautiful town of Mildura, where he established his first painting business, originally called ‘Paul Mahoney’s Painting.’ This soon evolved into ‘Mahoney Painting Services’ as Paul built strong professional relationships and secured contracts with local building companies. Over time, Paul grew the business to include a team of 14 skilled local painters and an apprentice.

Apprenticeships have always played a vital role in Mahoney & Fililava Painting's success, ensuring that the future of the painting and decorating trade is built on a foundation of integrity and skill. Paul has always believed in sending apprentices to trade school to gain the essential knowledge and expertise that can't always be learned on the job.

Spiro’s Journey to Excellence
Spiro Fililava began his school-based apprenticeship in 2015 and joined Paul’s team full-time by 2017. He attended trade school at Bendigo Kangan Institute, where he was proudly awarded Apprentice of the Year. During this time, the team also played a significant role in Cyclone Debbie’s rebuild in Queensland (2017), where they took on a large-scale water damage repair project. This experience provided Spiro with valuable responsibility and skill development in the painting industry.

As the business continued to evolve, the focus shifted from quantity to quality. This led to the formal partnership between Paul and Spiro, culminating in the creation of Mahoney & Fililava Painting. This partnership marks a renewed commitment to providing the highest quality painting services in Mildura and surrounding areas.
